What could your website do for your business?

We’re What Could AI, a Melbourne team designing websites and building web apps for Australian businesses. We start with what your customers need to understand and what your team needs the site to do. Then we build around your brand, your process and the tools you already use.

Start with the business

A place to explain what you do. Or a place to do the work.

Sometimes a clear, fast website is enough. Sometimes customers need to log in, book, upload a document or use a tool. We help you work out which you need.

A business website

  • Explain your services in language your customers use.
  • Show your work and give people reasons to trust you.
  • Make enquiries and bookings straightforward on a phone.
  • Give each important service a useful, searchable page.

A web app

  • Let customers sign in and complete a task.
  • Turn a spreadsheet or manual process into a shared tool.
  • Connect forms, records and notifications to your existing systems.
  • Build a client portal, dashboard or product people return to.
The details matter

Designed around the people using it.

A website should feel like your business. The layout, words and motion all have a job to do.

A product we’ve built
Sports projections web app with player projections and provider prices in a comparison table

One product. A web app and a mobile app.

The platform brings sports projections and provider prices into a shared comparison view. The desktop interface gives the table room to breathe; the mobile experience puts individual projections into cards.

It’s an example of the work beyond a marketing site: data, interfaces and a product people use. Your project might need all of that, or simply a better way to explain what you do.

How we work together

You know the business. We build with you.

You work directly with our team. We show you the site as it takes shape and use your feedback to make it fit.

  1. 01

    Understand

Who visits, what they need to know, what you want them to do and what your current site gets in the way of.

  2. 02

    Design and build

Agree the pages, content, integrations, scope and price. Review working screens as we build.

  3. 03

    Launch and improve

Check the experience, preserve useful URLs when replacing a site, connect your domain and agree how to support it.

Before you brief a designer

Website, web app or a connection between tools?

Start with what someone needs to finish: understanding your services, booking an appointment, sharing a document or using a tool. Our guide includes a decision table and seven questions you can use to write a project brief.

Work out what your business needs

Before we start

Website questions.

Can you improve our existing website?
Yes. We first look at what already works: your brand, content, URLs and customer journey. A refresh may be enough. A rebuild makes sense when the current platform or structure is holding you back.
Do we need AI on our website?
No. We recommend AI only when there is a useful task for it. A well-designed website with clear content and a working enquiry form may be everything you need.
How much will it cost?
We scope the pages, content, functionality and integrations first, then give you a fixed price in writing. Hosting and ongoing support are agreed separately in the proposal. Read how we price.
Will you get us to number one on Google?
No one can promise a position. We build the technical foundations and useful content, then use search data to guide improvements. Rankings also depend on competitors, relevance and evidence of your business beyond the website.
Who owns the finished build?
You own your data, configuration and outputs. Our standard software terms provide a perpetual licence; outright ownership can be quoted before the build starts. We agree the terms for your website and any third-party components in the proposal. See our pricing and ownership terms.
